Traffic Summons
You must respond to the summons to prevent a suspension of your driver’s license or driving privileges. It is a crime to drive with a suspended or revoked license. Please note when responding to a summons that:
To plead guilty to the ticket as written, use the following options.
No court appearance necessary. Complete and sign “Part A” of the ticket, and return to the court before appearance date on summons. You will receive a bill informing you of the fine amount.
Appear in court on appearance date indicated on summons.
To plead not guilty to the ticket as written, use the following options.
No court appearance necessary until notification of trial date. Complete and sign “Part B” of the ticket, and return to the court within 48 hours of issuance date. You will be notified of trial date.
Appear in Court on appearance date indicated on summons.
To plead guilty with explanation, appear in court on date indicated on summons.
Fines, imposed by the Judges, are based on the New York Vehicle and Traffic Law, and an individuals' driving record.

Summons not answered, fines not paid, or non-appearance for traffic trials will result in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) being notified to suspend the New York State (NYS) driver's license or privileges to drive in NYS. Drivers found driving with a suspended license will be charged with a misdemeanor and must appear in court.

- You are responsible for notifying the court of any address change.
- The option to respond by mail only applies to traffic summons that are not misdemeanors.
- In certain circumstances your appearance may still be required. The court will notify you if your appearance is necessary.
- Junior licenses drivers may be required to appear in court with a parent or guardian.
Pleading "Guilty"
To plead guilty to the ticket as written, use the following options.
Option 1

Appear in court on appearance date indicated on summons.

Payments made in person can be paid by:

- Money Order or Certified Check. Make payable to “Town of Mamaroneck Court.”
- MasterCard / Visa (card holder must be present for payment to be processed)
